From websites, podcasts, and book recommendations, we’d like to share with you some of our favorite resources to learn more about gastrointestinal health, detox, herbal medicine, and natural healing.
This is an evolving list and we’ll continue to add items as we come across them.
Herbal Medicine
- Bot Med Rocks - Dr. Eric Yarnell’s website is an excellent database regarding everything herbal medicine. His information is best suited for providers, but it is still useful for lay people as well.
- Herbal Apprentice Program - Feather Jones is a Registered Clinical Herbalist in Western Herbalism who has spent over 30 years teaching herbal medicine and clinical practice. She offers numerous classes and opportunities to expand your knowledge of healing plants.
Gut Microbiome
- Microbiome Prescription Blog - This is a website exploring the microbiome, what affects it and how to manipulate it. It is a bit technical, so the information is better suited for providers to interpret it.
Nutrition
- Wild Fermentation - Sandor Katz is the premier expert when it comes to fermenting vegetables, beverages, and so forth. He has numerous books on the subject that make fermenting easy for anyone.
Mind-Body Medicine:
- Peter A. Levine - Developer and pioneer of Somatic Experiencing to help resolve underlying trauma contributing to disease. Dr. Levine has written numerous books and has developed neurofeedback devices to help rewire the brain.
Meditation:
- Insight Timer - The best app I’ve found for meditation, personal insight, and other talks to bring you more in touch with your mind, body, and soul. The free version works well, but subscribing allows you to make playlists.
Treatment Modalities:
- LDN Research Trust - A group of providers and patients advocating the use of Low Dose Naltrexone in a clinical setting. LDN is a low-cost, minimal side-effect treatment option with an array of health benefits. You can learn more about it from the LDN Research Trust.
Condition Support:
- www.siboinfo.com - Dr. Allison Siebecker has made an entire website dedicated to everything SIBO. She offers information and news about SIBO to empower people in their health.
